Objective. Describe the perioperative nursing care of a person with a medical diagnosis of left parietal meningioma based on the Nursing Care Process. Material and method. Observational, descriptive case study, with application of the nursing process and the NANDA, NOC and NIC taxonomies. Results. During the preoperative period, a significant decrease in the level of anxiety was achieved through active listening and explanation of the surgical procedure. During the transoperative period, the surgical specialist nurse's own care was provided, which allowed an immediate and mediated recovery in the postoperative period, in which improvement was obtained mainly in memory. Discussion. Several studies show that the side effects after surgery depend on the conditions of each person, which is why attention to the human responses of people who undergo surgery should be guaranteed, since the high incidence of a diversity of sequelae or complications has been justified. Conclusion. The application of the Nursing Care Process in the surgical area is important, that guarantees a holistic care to the person undergoing surgery.
