Nutrición, ejercicio y sueño en universitarios: claves para mejorar la salud estudiantil

Resumen

Introducción. La etapa universitaria es un momento clave para formar hábitos saludables que influyen en la vida futura de los jóvenes. Las universidades representan un espacio estratégico para implementar programas que promuevan una buena nutrición, la actividad física regular y un sueño de calidad. Objetivo. Presentar las estrategias más eficaces para fomentar comportamientos saludables en universidades. Materiales y método. Este estudio trata de una revisión narrativa, se emplea una búsqueda avanzada en dos bases de datos electrónicas (PubMed, y Google Scholar); se emplearon buscadores booleanos y descriptores MeSH Resultados y conclusiones. La evidencia científica muestra que las intervenciones más efectivas son aquellas que integran a los estudiantes en su diseño, utilizan estrategias prácticas y personalizadas, e incorporan tecnología para motivar y dar seguimiento. Promover estrategias para mejorar la calidad del sueño, fomentar una alimentación equilibrada y aumentar la actividad física no solo beneficia la salud mental y el bienestar, sino que también impacta positivamente en el rendimiento académico de los universitarios. A pesar de los avances, los estudios que combinan más de dos de estos comportamientos de salud siguen siendo limitados.
